Mt. Vernon. West side.
Yesterday, my mother and I made a last-minute shopping to a nearby shopping mall. As usual, I bought a couple blouses, a hoodie (which are on sale! oh yes!!) and two pairs of shoes (I have 18 pairs of shoes now! VemSan will take over the world, one shoe at a time!! Pffft!).
The highlight of our night shopping though was when we dropped by Claires (an accessory store) :
It's almost 6pm. We're checking out the necklaces on display. One blondie went to the back door when, "What the... the lights went out?!??.....BROWNOUT ??! ** sparks of ideas** Madir, put those INEXPENSIVE necklaces in my clutchbag. Hurry up before power gets restored. No wait! take your time. They look clueless anyway! Oh! oh! oh! They really are clueless!! My gulay!!! Hahaha!"
JUST KIDDING! The truth is, the blondie turned off the lights (without saying any word to "US" - their only customers) as probably their way of informing us that the store is closing?! Did they do that because we're Asians? Or we look poor? Or because they're just simply uncultured? inconsiderate?
Same scenario in Safeway. This time with Caucasian siblings (2 boys, one girl; Age: 13 and below). The siblings bought only ONE bottled soda while I (who's next to them in line) was carrying a basket full of groceries. The kids saw me yet they continue to loiter, occupying the entire paying station of the cashier's area. Not because we're all of the same height doesn't mean they can treat me like that, heck no! Ayaw nila umi-sog, eto sa kanila -- BLAGGG! basket itself is now on the paying station/table! Never mind if I nearly smashed one of the kid's fingers. Bwahahaha. Engot. Engot kasi. Engot kasi. Makakapatay ako ng wala sa oras. Hahaha.
That's why I prefer living in the East side.
